Qualification:

BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate

Entry requirements:    

Five GCSEs including Maths & English Language: a minimum of three GCSEs at Grade 4 and two GCSEs at Grade 5.

Applicants will be given either A level or BTEC Business option based on their overall GCSE profile at the time of their results.

What is it?    

Learning the skills to both understand and be successful in the business world, researching and putting into practice some of the main business functions and marketing plans.

Students can operate their own fully registered business throughout the academic year as part of the national Young Enterprise scheme. You'll experience the roles of company directors, trade with the public and compete in the regional finals. Plus you'll get to keep any profits that the company makes!

What will I study?    

Exploring business; Developing a marketing campaign; Personal & business finance; Recruitment & selection process. BTEC Business focuses more on national business than international.

How will I be assessed?    

Coursework; controlled assessments; externally set exam.

Ideal grounding for managing or creating your own business with the knowledge and research of what makes businesses successful and the means and methods of making it so.
