Image of Staff and Students remember and pay tribute on Armistice Day

A two minute silence was also held at 11am when all students and staff remembered the nation's war dead on Armistice Day.

Our Health & Social Care students have devoted time in the run up to Remembrance Day, creating fabric poppies in order to raise money for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

The handmade poppies were sold to fellow students and staff members at the College, with more than £84.00 being raised in total from the poppy sales.

Health & Social Care Teacher, Ree Hopkinson-McNay who led the Poppy making initiative commented, “Our students got really creative with the handmade fabric poppy scheme, with the poppies proving to be extremely popular – selling out in just over 2 hours! The work that The Royal British Legion do to help members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, Reservists, veterans and their families is invaluable and our students were proud to help contribute to their Poppy Appeal.”
