Sixth Form College Student, Phoebe Cameron has received an offer to study Dentistry at the University of Leeds.
Phoebe, a former Woodchurch High School Student, will be studying a 5 year long integrated Masters degree at the School of Dentistry from September. This is the first dental undergraduate programme in the UK to award students with a Masters level qualification alongside a BSc in Oral Science at the end of the five years of study which Phoebe hopes will make her stand out to future employers.
The aspiring dentist received support from Assistant Principal, Kate Rigby with her personal statement and UCAS application and commented on how delighted she was to receive an offer, “The University of Leeds was my first choice so I am really pleased to have received an offer from there, especially as it is such a competitive course. Science has always been my strongest subject but Dentistry is also quite creative which is why it appeals to me. I am looking forward to working with the public and having the opportunity to help people.”
Phoebe, who studies Chemistry, Biology and Psychology at The Sixth Form College, achieved A’s and B’s in her AS exams last summer and is on track to repeat this success in her final exams. Phoebe said, “The College has been fantastic preparation for University as you are treated as an individual and have more independence. It is a more grown up environment.”
