Image of Art & Design Show 2018

The College's School of Art & Design welcomed all visitors to the annual Art & Design Show, which is the culmination of a year's work for students across six courses.

With work exhibited on all three floors of the specially-designed Art & Design building, students studying A Levels in Fine Art, Textiles, Graphic Design and 3D Design, plus those on the pre-university Foundation Diploma and Cambridge Technical Diploma, displayed some of their finest pieces as a host of visitors came to enjoy a feast of creativity.

After a thorough look around all that was on show, College Principal Mike Kilbride awarded Fine Art student Emma Quick with the 2018 Principal’s Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement for her striking charcoal portrait.

Many students from the Art & Design courses are heading off to top universities in the creative field in September, including Dylan McDonnell who gained a place at Central St Martin’s to study Fashion: a course considered to be the best in world and so competitive to enter that some deem it more exclusive than gaining a place at Oxford or Cambridge.
