Ambitious student, Joseph Murphy who is currently studying Economics, Mathematics, and Biology at the Sixth Form College, completed an insightful placement with one of Britain’s leading finance firms, JP Morgan in London last summer.
Joseph, a former student at Wallasey’s Kingsway Academy, has strong ambitions to work within the finance industry and hopes to go on from his studies at the college to study Economics and Finance at University with the aim of working in Investment Banking or the Financial Markets.
Whilst on his placement with JP Morgan, Joseph had the opportunity to observe activity on the trading floor, attend presentations and learn about the various roles in the financial industry as well as having to prepare and deliver his own presentation.
Joseph found the placement to be an inspiring experience, stating, “My time with JP Morgan was very valuable as the experience helped me to decide what I wanted to aim for and provided me with the motivation to attend the best University possible in order to develop a future career in banking.”
The academic 18-year-old hopes to achieve top grades this summer, after successfully obtaining 3 A grades and a C grade in his AS exams last year. After completing his A Levels at The Sixth Form College, Joseph has applied to study Economics and Finance at several Universities including Manchester University, University College London (UCL), Queen Mary University of London and Bristol University.
