Law students at The Sixth Form College had a very successful day at The Bar Mock Trials at Liverpool Crown Court on 22 November 2014, where they faced Wirral Grammar School for Girls, Carmel College and Great Sankey Sixth Form.

The Bar Mock Trial Team from the College had prepared two criminal cases; one involving possession of cannabis and the other involving public disorder.

The students found the experience to be useful towards their studies with A2 Law Student, Georgia Garland, saying:

“It was an amazing opportunity to learn about court procedure and develop our knowledge but also to have fun as a team in a new experience.”

AS Law student Adam White added, “The Bar Mock Trials have given me an opportunity to take learning out of the classroom and apply it to a real life environment.”

Head of Humanities, Paula Blakemore said, “The team had a fantastic day with brilliant performances from all involved. The team are now looking forward to travelling to Caldy Grammar on 10th December, for a mock trial against their Sixth Form Team. Well done to all.”
