Former student of The Sixth Form College, Paul Seddon, has been awarded a prestigious award in America and Canada - the NCCAA Kyle Rote, Jr. Award that recognises athletic performance, academic excellence and Paul’s character on and off the soccer field.
Paul, who studied A Level P.E, Biology and Spanish at The Sixth Form College from 2006-2008, represented the college football team regularly. Paul achieved fantastic results during his time at the college, leaving with four A Grades and going on to pursue a four year Soccer Scholarship at Houghton College in Western New York, USA.
During Paul’s four years at Houghton College his success has continued with Houghton College stating: “Seddon has been a captain for the Highlanders team for two seasons. Not only has he been a stalwart in the midfield for the team the past four years, but he has been very influential off the field as well - a model of excellence in every area.”
The NCCAA award is the National Christian Colleges Athletics Association and highlights excellence in competition, skill and service.
Principal of The Sixth Form College, Kathryn Podmore says, “It is fantastic to hear of Paul’s success and to see that our students are continuing to reach their full potential after their time at the college is over. We wish Paul continuing success in his future.”
