First year Psychology students gained fascinating insight into the workings of the human brain last week after Dr Guy Sutton visited the college from Nottingham University. He specialises in neuroscience and gave students a more detailed understanding of the human brain. In particular he explained how our speech can be drastically affected by a specific region of the brain as well as how damage to our frontal lobes can affect our personality.
Dr Guy Sutton then demonstrated a sheep brain dissection, showing all the major parts of the brain and students had a rare opportunity touch the brain and see the major parts such as the cerebellum and the hippocampus.
