Image of A Level Results - another record breaking year!

Results at the College - one of only 94 specialist Sixth Form Colleges in England and Wirral’s largest A Level provider - have increased for the seventh consecutive year, with more than 1,000 individual exam successes at A Level.

The College achieved an overall pass rate of 99%, with a 100% pass rate achieved across more than 30 courses.

Over a third of students achieved prestigious A*, A or B grades – up by 4% from last year and a record for the College, with 71% of Business Studies students achieving high grades.

Maths and Science were also very strong areas with Biology results among the best in the country in an already exceptional department.

Our ‘value added’ statistics- provided by data expert ALPS (A-Level Performance System) - reveal that we outperform 78% of providers nationally with 13 of our courses in the top 10% of all provision. These courses include French (Top 1%), Business (Top 4%), Biology (Top 5%), as well as Maths and Psychology.

More than 300 students have been successful in gaining Higher Education places at universities including Oxbridge and the prestigious Russell Group.

Principal Kathryn Podmore said: “The staff and I would like to congratulate all the students on their achievements. Once again the results have been excellent across the board and reflect the hard work of the students and everyone at the College. We have seen another increase in students progressing onto Higher Education and have more students going to university than any other sixth form provider in the Wirral.

“As recognised by our excellent recent Ofsted report, we continue to deliver A Level results higher than both the national and Wirral average and with a culture of aspiration and ambition, have supported students to exceed expectations and achieve higher grades than they were predicted when they joined us.”

We would like to congratulate all of our students - well done on all of your achievements!
