“The staff and I would like to congratulate the students on their achievements. The results are exceptionally good this year and reflect the hard work of the students and everyone at the College. Our culture of high aspirations has helped support students to exceed expectations and achieve higher grades than they were predicted when they joined us.” - Kathryn Podmore, Principal.
The College results have increased for the sixth consecutive year with 100% pass rate being achieved in 36 courses. In a college of 1,200 students, the overall pass rate increased to 99%. This reaffirms the College’s position in delivering results higher than both the national and Wirral average.
BTEC results were similarly impressive with a 99% pass rate and 143 Distinction* grades being awarded.
Over a third of A Level grades achieved were the prestigious A*, A or B grades and there were many individual success stories. Approximately 300 students will progress into Higher Education including Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.
Max Norman achieved A*A*A*A*, including A* for French A Level which he picked up as a hobby last October, learning the language without any prior experience or qualifications. Max is going on to study French & Russian at Kings College, Cambridge University. Some other high achieving students include Alanna Grant AABB, Ella Wrigley AAB, Stuart Booth AAA, Natasha Hashem ABB and Conor Stewart A*A*A.
