Our students showed their true range as they moved seamlessly from thigh-slapping cowboys and ranch-hands to slap-stick pantomime in a show of two halves. Song and dance routines from Broadway shows, iconic comedy and a pantomime which fuses the traditional with the bizarre delighted audiences.
An energetic chorus from ‘Oklahoma !’ contrasted with a lyrical performance from ‘West Side Story’ by ‘Maria’ Lily O’Sullivan on alto sax. Elise Pritchard was Mrs Overall in a hilarious comedy sketch.
After festive refreshments, audience participation was obligatory in ‘Cinderalfred’, a Panto with a twist. Jack Malone was the long-suffering, browbeaten step-son of glamorous Chris Steele, mother of wicked step-brothers Rack and Ruin. Hopefully gorgeous Princess Charming Kate Murphy made Cinderalfred’s Christmas dreams come true.
