Image of Student artists thrive in Lockdown

The College's Head of Art & Design, Angela Watson, writes:

During lockdown, our Art & Design students have proven how creative, resourceful and committed they really are. Below are just some examples of the work produced by Year 1 students studying A Levels in Fine Art, Graphics and Textiles.

The students have used this time to practice existing skills in drawing and painting, refined their use of software packages such as Photoshop and Illustrator and developed new skills like card construction and knitting!

We are all very much looking forward to the time that staff and students can once again work together in the studios, but until then the students will continue to observe, reflect and realise the lockdown world around them. When they are asked: “What did you do during lockdown?” they will have skilful, playful and original answers.
