3 July 2015
The School of Art & Design at The Sixth Form College held their annual Summer Exhibition this week (Wednesday1st July 2015) to showcase our student’s creative achievements.
Students, parents and guests were able to view works completed by our students in Fine Art, Textiles, Graphics, Product Design, Art & Design and the Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media. We were also delighted to include guest work from Kilgarth School.
There were also works on display at the exhibition from some of our current Foundation Diploma student’s recent exhibit in the Bridewell Studios & Gallery in Liverpool. The students, Elliott Haigh, Georgina Rowlands, Jacob Hulmston and Ruth Mitchell exhibited their final pieces at the gallery from 25th – 31st May. Jacob, Georgina and Elliott have all successfully gained places to study Fine Art at the University of Arts at Central St Martins College in London from September. Fellow students in the Foundation Diploma cohort have also successfully progressed on to a whole range of Higher Education courses including Architecture, Graphic Design & Illustration and Theatre, Performance & Event Design.
Head of Art & Design, Angela Watson was delighted with the level of work on display at the Exhibition, “Our students have produced some outstanding work this year and to see it all come together at the exhibition was fantastic. The students have worked incredibly hard to produce their work and pull it all together for the show and were delighted by the support and recognition they received by those visiting the exhibit.”
