Amy, a former Birkenhead Park School student, will be placed in one of various government departments on her placement with possibilities including, HM Treasury, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Cabinet Office and Ministry of Defence.

Amy applied for the placement through the Social Mobility Foundation and as a result her place on the programme, which takes place from 27th July – 7th August, is fully funded including travel to and from London, accommodation, meals and all evening and weekend activities.

Amy, who is part of the College’s Honours Programme, applied for the placement following a talk at The Sixth Form College from a Social Mobility Foundation representative Isobel Plant. Amy commented, “My Personal & Guidance Tutors Leigh O’Mahony and Chas Knight have been really supportive in helping me to secure a placement. Places on the programme are really competitive so it felt great to know I was successful and I am looking forward to going to London and gaining experience within a professional role.”
