Over spring term BTEC IT students had a fantastic opportunity to meet and speak with an experienced game developer and find out about the games industry. Jim Bagley, has worked on many games for different platforms and has over 27 years’ experience, his past projects include 1990s classic, Doom. He now works for himself developing games for iOS (iPhones/iPad) and generously shared details of his experiences with the students before offering an open question and answer session.
Students quizzed Jim about games and the industry and he offered solid advice to College’s budding games developers. Jim took a look at the work of some second year students who are almost ready to develop their own games.
BTEC IT students who go on to study the second year of the course will complete units in Computer Game Design and Developing Computer Games as part of the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in IT.
