Image of Congratulations BSFC DofE Gold!

A very big well done to students and staff who made our recent Gold DofE expedition a success!

This expedition was their qualifying expedition, and everybody passed! The students completed four routes in Snowdonia National Park and were assessed on their skills.  They carried all of their equipment including tents, stoves, clothing and food over a distance of 80km in total.

The students were also assessed on their purpose – an investigation each individual chose – these included photography with the aim of creating a calendar, looking at the availability of local produce in local shops, littering in the National Park area and different campsite facilities.  The students completed all of the routes including exciting sections such as Devil’s Kitchen – which they descended on the final day.

All of the students now must complete any remaining sections including their Volunteering, Skills, Physical and Residential – most of which can is arrange through the Enrichment programme at College.
