Teaching Staff

We seek to appoint a committed and hardworking teacher who is a specialist in Sociology and keen to teach at Post 16 level.  We seek to appoint one full time member of staff and an additional part time member of staff to teach A-level Sociology.

A-level Sociology is a popular course choice in the College, with over 230 students studying the course across both year groups. The department follows AQA specification and currently teach the units of education with theory & methods, families & household, beliefs in society & crime &deviance.

The Sociology department supports the College’s foundation programme. This a one year course that prepares and develops students so that they can access a level 3 study programme the year after. GCSE Many students who were previously not eligible for level 3 make rapid progress, which gives these students a wider range of opportunities in their progression, including going on to study A-level Sociology.

Both experienced teachers and NQTs are encouraged to apply. Whatever your experience you will be supported in a way that best supports your development in a College renowned for its innovation as well as the exceptional progress of its students.

You will be joining a strong team of teachers. There are 4 full time teachers in the department and there is a strong collaborative and supportive culture amongst the team. The department in recent years has also developed greater links with speakers and also send students on an annual Prison trip for the Crime and Deviance topic.
