Below is a summary of the proposed timeline leading up to you joining us in September.
PLEASE NOTE: Some elements may be updated according to the latest government advice.
Starter guides in each of your chosen subjects will be sent to you electronically, giving you handy tips to get a headstart ahead of beginning lessons, as well as recommendations of related books, films and TV shows that mean that you can blend learning subject matter and having some entertainment from home. It also gives you a chance to explore other subjects if you are thinking of changing your original choices.
If you’ve already received your offer then you may be aware of the Freshers’ Day you were invited to in July to help you get acquainted with College life and lessons. We obviously don’t know how the situation will be at that time right now, and whether or not these can go ahead in person, but will be in touch with details closer to the time.
In July, we will be posting an information pack to parents and an enrolment pack to students. These will give you all the information you need to be ready to officially join the College.
GCSE Results Day - Thursday 20th August 2020
Enrolment - Expected to start from Monday 24th August
We are all hoping that Enrolment can take place as normal and you can come to the College to finalise your subject choices after discussion and advice from Heads of Department, and you will officially become a Birkenhead Sixth Form College student.
We are extremely aware that you have had a disrupted end to your time at high school and that stepping up to A Levels and BTECs at a new College may feel even more challenging. This is why we are currently devising a programme to help you settle into College life and use our expertise in sixth form education to give you the best help with the transition. Details to come soon.
