Birkenhead Sixth Form College is participating in a clinical Covid trial of daily contact testing to help evaluate its effectiveness and safety.

The trial is split into two groups and the College is part of the 'Control arm' of the procedure, with other institutions acting as the 'intervention Arm'.

As part of the Control arm, this trial will involve any student or staff member that reports a positive lateral flow test for COVID-19 isolating for ten days and taking two PCR versions of the Covid test to follow up the lateral flow test. Those identified as close contacts of this given person will also have to isolate for ten days and take two PCR tests on days two and seven of their isolation. All tests will be provided by the College.

The trial is voluntary and shall only include students and staff who consent to do so.
